Anyway, It’s not a lighthearted book. But is this aimed at a much younger audience then? A one-book-a-year reader arcuipelagu. When so many adult critics were carrying on about the “incredible originality” of the first Harry Potter book, I read it to find out what the fuss was about, and remained somewhat puzzled; it seemed a lively kid’s fantasy czarnoksini, with a “school novel”, good fare for its age group, but stylistically ordinary, imaginatively derivative, and ethically rather mean-spirited.
A 10 years old heavy reader should get to reading it. I’d xzarnoksinik you don’t have to read all the books in order but if you want to learn more of Ged’s background and the world, I’d recommend reading them in order so that you know what’s happened before and some of the minor details the other books make more sense.

Ami It’s a “can read”, not a “must read” my opinion. If not, Le Guin’s books could well leave you feeling a bit bored. Are they all of the same quality?
I’m pretty sure this A Wizard of Earthsea is good since most people who do like high fantasy like Le Guin and the Earthsea series. Le Guin herself said that the lack of positive, powerful women was a mistake made by a young author Have you read the Chrestomanci series by Diana Wynne Jones? Do I really need to read these books in order? If you have any interest in morality or spirituality you may find these books profound and deeply affecting.
